In the summer of 2022, a simple stroll through a local vendor market with a dear friend stirred something unexpectedly beautiful within me. We were exploring with the thought of starting a home décor business, and as I browsed the displays, I noticed an absence of unique wreath designs. That quiet realization sparked a gentle but persistent thought: Maybe I could create one-of-a-kind wreaths myself.
Years earlier, after welcoming two children into my life, I had stepped away from my banking career to focus on raising them. Our shift from two incomes to one meant carefully budgeting every dollar. I still remember wandering through stores, admiring the wreaths and seasonal décor, imagining them on my front door, brightening my home, yet often leaving empty-handed, carrying the inspiration only in memory. Now, decades later, I am humbled and grateful to create custom wreaths and send them across state lines to homes I may never see, yet feel connected to.
My craft room has become my sanctuary—a place where creativity meets quiet reflection. With worship music filling the background, peace settles in and inspiration flows. What began with little experience and trembling humility has grown into a devoted pursuit of learning the art of wreath-making, garlands, and centerpieces. Each design is prayed over, crafted with intention, and made to bring as much joy to its recipient as I feel while creating it. I wreath, I sing, and I pray—and sometimes, I even jam out to K-pop, Mozart piano sonatas, or a little country pop.
My heart’s mission through Laura Designs is to reflect Christ’s love by blessing women walking through emotional, physical, or financial hardship. Each month, I handcraft and gift a wreath—especially to uplift single mothers and widows as a reminder of grace, hope, and the steadfast love that surrounds them. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4, ESV).
Thank you for supporting Laura Designs, for being part of this journey, and for allowing me to create pieces that carry both beauty and blessing.
With gratitude,
Laura
